Our Story

The story behind My Lilo

My Lilo began with a simple question: why are there so few beautiful Arabic learning materials for children?

We are a small Copenhagen studio creating hand-painted books, posters, and games that introduce children to the Arabic language. Every product is designed with Scandinavian minimalism and produced locally on FSC-certified paper, with non-toxic inks, and with an attention to detail that you can feel in every page.

Our name - Lilo - means night in Arabic. It's a nod to bedtime stories, to the quiet moments between parent and child, and to the idea that the best learning happens when the world slows down.

We don't make mass-produced products. We make things worth keeping.

How we make

Every illustration starts as a pencil sketch, refined through watercolour and digital layering. We work with Danish illustrators who understand that children see differently they notice texture, warmth, and expression before they read a single word.

Our books are printed on heavyweight, FSC-certified paper. Our games are laminated for years of use. Nothing is rushed.
